Garmin sues TomTom on patent infringement

It has come to our attention that the US-based company Garmin is suing their Dutch rival Tom Tom. From what we can see the basis of Garmin's case is that they believe that TomTom is illegaly using fiveUS-patented technologies which form part of the routing algorythm.

What could the result of this case be? Well anything upto TomTom being barred from marketing their products in the US as well as financial sanctions.
